School District Seeks Input on 2013-2014 Budget

Public meetings begin Monday, March 25.

Dorchester County School District Two invites the public to attend its public workshop and input sessions for the 2013-2014 budget.

Last year's district budget was $148 million and, in 2012, voters implemented a $179 million referendum to help fund new schools and other needed construction. 

Here are the scheduled opportunities for public comment on this year's budget:

  • 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 25. School Board Budget Workshop at District Office Board Room. Board meeting at 6 p.m.
  • 6 p.m. Tuesday, April  9. Public Input Meeting at Summerville High School
  • 6 p.m. Monday, April 15.  Public Input Meeting at Fort Dorchester High School
  • 4:30 p.m. Monday, April 22 (TENTATIVE). School Board Budget Workshop at District Office Board Room
  • 4:30 p.m. Monday, May 13. School Board Budget Workshop at District Office Board Room
  • 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 14. Public Hearing on Budget Presentation at Knightsville Elementary School
  • Monday, May 20. Budget Presentation to Dorchester at County Council Chambers in Summerville.
