You weren't alone. 

Every year, as most of the nation "springs forward," many get thrown off and late. And those who aren't late, get upset about losing an hour of sleep. This turmoil leads to the perennial question: Is Daylight Saving Time still needed?

Of course, there are some people who look forward to having an extra hour of daylight in the evening, even if it means their mornings are a little darker until the days get longer. 

The United States isn't alone in its adherence to the time change and it isn't a recent invention. According to TimeandDate.com, the practice dates back to ancient times.

The website reported that our current concept of time change was likely first conceived by Benjamin Franklin.
