Surveillance footage from the scene helped detectives identify the truck, which they tracked to Marcus Dilmore, 34. He was indicted in June by a Maury County grand jury.

Police say parts matching a truck owned by Dilmore were found at the scene. Dilmore works at a body shop and detectives believe he may have been able to make repairs to his vehicle.

Lt. Josh Davis of the Columbia Police Department told WKRN that Gilmore did not confess to the hit and run, but said that if it was him, it was an accident and he was unaware he hit anyone.

Gilmore is being held on a $100,000 bond. He had a pending DUI at the time of the crash and has since been arrested for a second DUI.
