The detectives, posing as the mother, set up a meeting with Watson at a Murfreesboro. Once he arrived β allegedly with his 9-month-old daughter β the undercover officer stayed in her role and convinced Watson to let him hold the baby, at which time he was arrested. The baby was briefly placed in Department of Children's Services custody and then returned to her mother, Watson's wife.
Watson has worked as an electrical technician for Metro Schools since 2013 and MNPS says he has done work in 141 schools across the district. The principals of those schools have been notified.
