Hamilton County School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Hamilton County is August 10. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Hamilton County School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 8/4: Administrative In-Service #2 (School-Based)
• 8/7: Administrative In-Service #3 (School-Based), Registration Day for Students
• 8/8: Administrative In-Service #4 (System-Wide)
• 8/9: Administrative In-Service #5 (School-Based)
• 8/10: First Full Day of School

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)

October

• 10/4: No School for Students (Teacher Professional Development #1), End of First Quarter
• 10/9 - 10/13: No School (Fall Break)
• 10/20: Report Cards

November

• 11/22 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Holiday)

December

• 12/19: Half Day of Students, Last Day of Classes before Winter Holidays
• 12/20: No School for Students (Teacher Professional Development #2), End of Second Quarter
• 12/21 - 1/3: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1 - 1/3: No School (Winter Break)
