  1. Layoffs are coming to a Chattanooga Volkswagon supplier facility in the next three months. According to the notice filed with the state, 156 workers will be laid off by May 20 at the ThyssenKrupp LLC facility. A representative with the company said, "We cannot comment on this matter as it is an internal business affair." (Subscription: Chattanooga Times Free Press)
  2. Police are investigating a homicide which took place on Sunday evening on Glass Street. Two people were shot around 11:30 p.m. at a parking lot near Sandy's Liquor Store and Sandy's Mini Mart. One man was found dead and another went to a hospital for a gunshot wound after reportedly two groups of people were arguing prior to shots fired. The investigation is ongoing. (WDEF News 12)
  3. Good news travelers: Nonstop American Airlines flights from Chattanooga to Miami will return Jun. 3. The service, only being offered on Saturday, will have travelers departing Chattanooga Airport at 7:00 a.m. with an arrival time in Miami at 9:15 a.m. Mimia flights will depart at 7:35 p.m. and arrive at Chattanooga at 9:55 p.m. (Subscription: Chattanooga Times Free Press)
