- The Chattanooga Police Department reports it will be focusing on speeding enforcement efforts in the Northshore area. According to Glenn Scruggs, the assistant chief of neighborhood policing, the department will be increasing its police presence in that area due to a high volume of speeding complaints. The department will also be on the lookout for phone usage while driving. (WDEF News 12)
- The Hamilton County Health Department reports there has been a significant increase in non-fatal overdoses in the last two days. Health Department officials believe the increase is related to fentanyl, opioid, and illicit drug use. The increase has been termed a "serious public health threat." The department will be working with community partners, neighboring counties, law enforcement, and hospitals to address the increase. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
- The Chattanooga Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Wednesday, Feb. 1 near Rossville Boulevard. The shooting happened shortly after 1:00 p.m. and resulted in the death of a 35-year-old male. The department is searching for a man that fled the scene wearing dark clothing. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Chattanooga Police Department. (WTVC)
