- About two dozen Hamilton County school teachers are asking the county school board to reinstate a stipend after losing it at the end of last year. The stipend is available for educators working in underserved public schools but includes specific eligibility requirements, which some teachers who lost the stipend said they were not aware of. - The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Police Department is hosting a cell phone drive from Jan. 23-28. The initiative is a partnership between the UTC Police Department, 911 Cell Phone Bank, and the Partnership for Families, Children and Adults. Devices donated to the drive will help benefit victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault. (The Chattanooga Pulse)
- The Salvation Army in Chattanooga will be hosting a food drive starting Monday, Jan. 23. The food drive supports the organization’s Life Navigation Ministry, a mobile program that brings resources to people in need in the Chattanooga area.
