Drunken Driver Tried To Flee With Flat Tire: Franklin Police

A man evaded Brentwood Police but was unable to escape Franklin Police as his tire went flat.

FRANKLIN, TN — A DUI suspect was able to evade Brentwood Police but couldn't dodge Franklin officers Friday, although his flat tire may have hindered his efforts.

Franklin Police say 33-year-old Marco Owens was driving down Mack Hatcher near Cool Springs Boulevard at 1 a.m. Friday . He was wanted for evading Brentwood Police just a short time earlier. Franklin authorities say one of Owens' tires was flat and heavily smoking when he was spotted. Once they stopped him, they determined he was impaired.

Owens is charged with felony evading, third offense DUI, speeding, possession of marijuana, driving on a revoked license, failure to maintain a lane, disregarding a traffic control device, and violation of the implied consent law. Owens is being held in the Williamson County Jail on a $17,000 bond.
