Johnson City: West Walnut Project Continues, Includes Overnight Work

Other infrastructure work will continue to impact the following streets during the day through the week of December 13.

Underground infrastructure work is continuing in the West Walnut Street area. Overnight work on West Watauga Avenue at the intersection of West State of Franklin and the intersection of West Walnut Street will begin Sunday (Dec. 12) at 7 p.m. and end Monday (Dec. 13) at 7 a.m.

This work will disrupt traffic flow intermittently along West Watauga Avenue and those intersections and will require a lane closure on West State of Franklin Road.

Other infrastructure work will continue to impact the following streets during the day through the week of Dec. 13:

  • Ashe Street – intermittent closures
  • West Watauga Avenue– intermittent closures/lane shifts
  • Drivers who cannot avoid these areas should expect delays, use caution in the construction zone, and observe posted speed limits for their safety and the safety of workers.
