• Kingsport BMA hears Appalachian Power update (timesnews.net) — Kingsport residents just got a detailed update on their electric rates and assistance options from Appalachian Power at Monday’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen work session. The utility says Kingsport’s average residential rate is below state and national averages, and outlined bill components, storm and COVID-19 riders, and programs like budget billing and low-income energy assistance for households that are struggling.
   

• Man indicted in death of 14-month-old in Kingsport (timesnews.net) — Kingsport authorities report that a man has been indicted in connection with the 2024 death of a 14‑month‑old child in the city. The suspect faces multiple serious charges and is being held in Sullivan County Jail while Kingsport Police say their investigation remains active, with no further details released yet.
