On Wednesday night, officers responded to the Merchant Drive area after receiving an alert from the LPR cameras regarding a stolen blue Honda. Officers located the vehicle in the parking lot of Peyton’s Place on Schubert Road and detained a man and woman as they approached the car.

Following continued investigation, officers located approximately 98 grams of meth, 58 grams of heroin, 3.3 grams of cocaine and various other narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Officers also located a loaded handgun. The car was reported as stolen from Middle Tennessee State University, while the tag on the vehicle was reported as stolen out of Knoxville.
27-year-old Alexander McGuire, of Detroit, Michigan, was charged with possession of stolen property over $20,000, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, possession of schedule II drugs for resale, criminal impersonation and fugitive from justice from another state among other charges. 28-year-old April Tyson, of Knoxville, was charged with possession of schedule I drugs for resale and possession of schedule II drugs for resale among a multitude of additional drug charges.
