Knoxville Police Department Investigating Fatal Shooting At Vista Apartments
No arrests have been made in connection to the shooting and the investigation remains ongoing.

Knoxville Police Department Violent Crimes Unit investigators have identified the victim from the fatal shooting on Sunday morning at the Vista Apartments as 61-year-old Jeffery Evans of Knoxville, Tennessee.

A witness reported hearing a gunshot and seeing the victim and suspect in a physical altercation. The suspect, who has still not been identified, reportedly ran from the scene prior to the arrival of police.
No arrests have been made in connection to the shooting and the investigation remains ongoing.

At around 7:15 a.m. on Sunday, February 20, 2022, Knoxville Police Department officers responded to a shooting at The Vista Apartments located at 232 S. Hall of Fame Drive. Officers arrived on scene and found a man who had been shot at least one time. The victim was transported to the UT Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The shooting is under active investigation by the KPD Violent Crimes Unit. That investigation is in the preliminary stages, and no suspects have been located or identified at this time. Additional information will be released as the investigation progresses.
