Charter Senior Living Now Manages Memphis Retirement Community
Family-Owned and -Operated Charter Senior Living Welcomes The Village at Primacy Place to Its Family of Communities

When Keven Bennema began working in the senior living space as a caregiver, he never knew that humble beginning would turn into a career and passion aimed at enhancing the lives of seniors for decades to come. As the now co-founder, president and CEO of Charter Senior Living, he’s taking that mission to the Memphis area. The family-owned and -operated company recently became the management company for The Village at Primacy Place (formerly known as Rose Terrace Assisted Living). Their mission is to take the once-ordinary Assisted Living community and make it an extraordinary place where residents, families and team members can thrive.
“This management of The Village at Primacy Place gives us the opportunity at Charter to grow our mission of enhancing the human spirit of everyone who enters our community,” said Bennema. “This isn’t just a name change for this community; it’s a true cultural and lifestyle change that will boost this growing population for years to come.”

The Village at Primacy Place is located at 6015 Primacy Parkway in Memphis. The change in management will increase the family of Charter Senior Living retirement communities to more than 40 throughout the U.S. Charter will bring with it their vibrant and new life-enrichment programming, chef-inspired meals, and culture of caring team members.
Currently, more than 17% of the population of Shelby County has already reached their senior years. That number will continue to climb as more baby boomers reach age 65 every day. With this substantial increase, the area will soon see a greater need for quality care for seniors. Charter Senior Living hopes to fill that need. “We strive every day to be a caring and compassionate leader within the senior living industry,” said Bennema. “More importantly, our goal is to demonstrate that commitment to our residents every single day.”

With each new community Charter manages, Bennema visits with residents and works beside the team members in hopes of increasing everyone’s love and passion for this industry. In addition to increasing activities and dining options, Charter has plans to renovate The Village at Primacy Place within the coming months. They’re also creating new opportunities and resources for employees to grow within the company.
