Fayette County Deputy Shot; Suspect In Custody: Reports
The deputy was responding to a robbery on Thursday morning.

OAKLAND, TN— A suspected robber who shot a responding deputy is reportedly in custody following a car chase in Fayette County on Thursday morning, according to multiple reports.
Fayette County Sheriff's Department responded to a robbery at Murphy's Express on Highway 64 in Oakland at approximately 8 a.m. The officer was shot as the suspected robber was fleeing the scene, according to Fox 13 Memphis.
The suspect then carjacked a vehicle at Texaco Gas Station on Highway 64 and led police on a chase, the news station reports.

The man crashed a short time later, flipping his car "10 to 12 times," a witness told Channel 3 News. He was later placed under arrest.

The deputy's condition is non-critical, Channel 3 reports.
