In three seasons with Memphis, Morant has dazzled fans with highlight plays and an energetic personality to match.
Morant, the 2019-'20 NBA Rookie of the Year, took a leap forward in his third season. He averaged 27.4 points, 6.7 assists, 5.7 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game and was named to the NBA All-Star team for the first time. He was selected Second Team All-NBA and was seventh in MVP voting.
The Grizzlies went 56-26, tying a franchise record for wins, and reached the Western Conference semifinals, where they fell to the eventual NBA champion Golden State Warriors in six games. Morant averaged 27.1 points, 9.8 assists, eight rebounds and two steals per game in two playoff series against the Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State.
He scored 115 points in the first three games against the Warriors and missed the final three games with a knee injury.
With Morant, the Grizzlies have transformed from a frontcourt-oriented franchise in the 2010s anchored by players such as Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph into a fast-paced team that scored 115.6 points per game last season, second in the NBA.
