Memphis Zoo: Seasonal Activities Are Back With More To Offer

Seasonal exhibits are back at the Memphis Zoo, and they are better than ever! We have so many new experiences to offer this year, and we can’t wait to make more memories with you. Check out all the seasonal activities the Memphis Zoo has to offer!

The land down under is returning to the Bluff City with the reopening of KangaZoo!

Experience the outback and meet one of Australia's largest marsupials, the red kangaroo. Guests will stay on the designated path, but the kangaroos will have free range so guests may take pictures if they come across any of the animals. There will also be new experiences this year including a mining experience and new animals from the outback!

Transport to the mysterious world of butterflies as you venture through Metamorphosis. Metamorphosis defines the various life stages of the butterfly and the incredible journey they take in their short lives.

The newest butterfly exhibit features hundreds of native butterflies within a colorful pollinator garden. Guests will learn the important history and plight of the butterfly conservation taking place around the globe, featuring the story of the unique phenomenon known as the annual monarch migration.

Giraffe Feeding

A fan favorite of all zoo visitors is getting to meet our giraffe herd face to face at our giraffe feeding deck. You will have the opportunity to feed any of our 8 giraffes and learn about their unique personalities at the giraffe feeding deck.

Splash Pad

Come splash and play at the newest Memphis oasis, AquiFUR! The AquiFUR is an immersive, zero-depth water play area with slides, dump-buckets, interactive water toys, and even a special section just for toddlers.

The AquiFUR is the perfect place to escape the incredible Memphis heat and will feature luxury cabanas and party rooms great for families, groups, birthday parties, and other events. The AquiFUR is being built to accommodate children 10 years and under with their families.

Treehouse Theater Performances

The Memphis Zoo animal interpreter team has worked hard to make a one of a kind show for guests to experience this season! These shows will include our very own animal interpreters and their animal ambassadors. These animals are excited to teach you the importance of the animals at the zoo and show off their unique behaviors!

Train Rides, Tram Rides, Kids Rides

All aboard! The zoo rides are open again! From CHINA carousel to the train at the farm, all your favorites are back again! We will also begin running our trams around the zoo.
