1 Arrested In Printer's Alley Can-Opener Stabbing

A man allegedly stabbed his friend in the neck with a can opener for "no reason" in Printer's Alley early Wednesday.

NASHVILLE, TN -- A man was arrested early Wednesday after allegedly stabbing his friend in the neck with a can opener in Printer's Alley.

Metro Police were called to the intersection of Church Street and Third Avenue shortly after 12:30 a.m. Wednesday and found the victim and suspect James Shrum - who knew one another prior to the small consumer-durables altercation. It is unclear what led to the alleged attack, as Shrum reportedly told police he stabbed his friend for "no reason."

Shrum is charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
