Altercation leads to deadly shooting in Nashville apartment, police say, suspect at large (fox17.com) — A 23-year-old man was fatally shot inside an apartment on Skyline Ridge Drive in Nashville, and police say the suspect or suspects are still at large. Metro detectives report the victim, Aubrey Bellamy, was shot in the chest during an altercation with two other men Saturday evening. Anyone who may have seen or heard something is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
   

2. Nashville's Second Avenue reopens five years after Christmas Day bombing (wsmv.com) — Second Avenue in downtown Nashville is fully open again, nearly five years after the 2020 Christmas Day bombing shut down the historic street and damaged critical underground infrastructure. City leaders and business owners marked the reopening as a fresh start, with reconstruction complete, barriers removed, and new mixed-use development bringing condos and retail space by 2027.
   

3. 'Not trying to CA your TN' Are Californians reshaping Nashville's housing market? (fox17.com) — Nashville-area realtors say a steady influx of Californians is reshaping the local housing market, with newcomers often able to pay more than longtime residents. Drawn by no state income tax and relatively affordable homes, many find larger houses and land for less than in California. Locals, however, increasingly feel priced out and may need to look farther from the city center or adjust expectations.
   

4. Nashville honor-roll students, once overlooked, find Christmas recognition (newschannel5.com) — Nashville families gathered at Vibes restaurant as Chef Sterling Wright and owner Kero Yacoub treated more than 100 honor-roll students from local alternative schools to a holiday meal and Christmas gifts. The celebration highlighted students who’ve overcome major challenges, emphasizing that their academic success matters and that local adults are stepping up as a support system during the holidays.
   

5. TSU alum celebrates 105 years (tntribune.com) — Nashville’s Tennessee State University community is celebrating alumna Hazel Suggs Burley, who turned 105 this fall and continues to embody Tiger pride. Alumni and supporters are invited to honor her by helping launch a new TSU scholarship fund in her name, with suggested commemorative gifts starting at $10.50 to reach a $10,500 goal.
