2 Killed in Motorcycle Wreck on I-440 in Nashville
The husband and wife were reportedly thrown from the bike. The wreck closed stretches of I-440 and I-24 for hours Saturday.

NASHVILLE, TN — Two people were killed in a motorcycle crash late Saturday afternoon on Interstate 440 east at Interstate 24, according to Nashville Metro Police. The wreck shortly before 4 p.m. also closed Interstate 24 west at Interstate 440 as first responders and a crash team worked the scene.
The victims were identified as Mark Baker, 58, and his wife, Laurie Baker, 56, both of Collierville, Tennessee, according to WKRN. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Mark Baker was reported thrown off the overpass and struck by a tractor-trailer on I-24.

“It’s crazy, because it’s on the interstate. Nobody’s paying attention, everybodys driving, minding their business and he came out of the sky,” a witness told WKRN.
Fox 17 notes that as of October 21, 127 motorcyclists have been killed in the state this year, up 17 from 2015, according to Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security statistics.
