6 Family Members Shot, 2 Die, At Nashville Apartment: Police
Two brothers and one of the armed men died when shooting erupted.

NASHVILLE, TN — Three people were killed and four injured in a shooting at a Nashville apartment complex Friday night.
Nashville police said the family of six were home when two men knocked on the door around 9:45 p.m.
Police said there was no sign of forced entry.

"It appears the suspects gained entry after knocking on the front door," the department said.
During the encounter, gunfire broke out. Two members of the family, brothers Zacquez Sherrell, 18, and Tavarius Sherrell, 15, were killed. Their 40-year-old mother, 20- and 16-year-old sisters and 13-year-old brother were wounded and taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in stable condition.

Also killed was one of the two armed robbers, Christian Akail Johnson, 29, of Nashville. He had a prior conviction on robbery charges. The second man fled before police arrived.
Police said they recovered three guns at the scene.
