Bellevue Man Accidentally Shoots Self In Leg

A 27-year-old told police he was handling his pistol when it went off and hit him in the thigh early Saturday.

BELLEVUE, TN -- A Bellevue man accidentally shot himself in the leg early Saturday morning.

Metro Police were called to the Waterford Place Apartments just after midnight Saturday and found a 27-year-old with a gunshot wound to the thigh.

The man told police he was handling his handgun when the pistol fired.

He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Police interviewed the man's roommate and the investigation is ongoing.
