Belmont and Sodexo Partner to Fight Food Insecurity via Meal Swipes

Belmont Dining by Sodexo and Belmont Student Care Services have launched a thoughtful initiative to combat food insecurity on campus.

Belmont Dining by Sodexo and Belmont Student Care Services have launched a thoughtful initiative to combat food insecurity on campus. Beginning right after Thanksgiving, students can donate meal swipes by scanning a QR code shared on social media and distributed on campus.

During Pancake Night, a popular campus event, the program received further visibility with cards featuring the QR code handed out to attendees. The QR code will remain available year-round, with additional cards distributed across campus departments to ensure every student has the opportunity to support their peers in need.

Clemence Sery, Marketing Manager at Sodexo, spoke to the importance of this initiative: “No one should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from.” This effort reflects Belmont’s dedication to fostering a caring community where every student has access to nutritious meals.

For students experiencing food insecurity, complimentary meal accommodations are also available through the Office of Accessibility, providing immediate assistance to those who need it most.

This collaborative effort demonstrates how students, Belmont Dining by Sodexo, and campus departments are working together to address food insecurity and create a stronger, more supportive campus environment.
