- Homeowners in South Nashville are concerned about the BNA Nashville Airport runway expansion towards Murfreesboro Pike. A letter was sent to the homeowners in the surrounding area that they may be at risk of losing their homes after the news was released. The concern with this situation for homeowners is due to noise and the possibility of jet fuel in the area. (WSMV 4)
- Baristas who work at Three Brothers Coffee went on strike early on Tuesday, Jun. 13. This became the first unionized coffee shop in Nashville in April 2022 due to the help of a secret ballot vote controlled by the National Labor Relations Board. The workers are fighting for their wage proposal increase of $16 an hour compared to their current wage of $9 an hour. However, the owner has been hesitant with finalizing negotiations or recognizing them at all. (Nashville Scene)
- One of Nashville’s “Most Wanted," Fredrick Cheeks was arrested on Monday, Jun. 12, for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, vandalism and felon in possession of a firearm. In May near a Germantown pub, Cheeks shot up a food truck and multiple cars. Reports state that there was originally an altercation with a man over something that happened over two years ago.
