Here are the top three stories today in Nashville:

  1. The man sentenced for shooting a Shelbyville woman in 2022 is now accused of murdering a man in Nashville and has accepted a plea deal. Sam Rich, the son of a Bedford County Judge, agreed to a plea of 99 years for the murder of Will Warner, who was found dead in Nashville by Metro water crews; Rich was sentenced to 59 years last year for the attempted murder of Hannah Grace Perryman.   2. The late country music pioneer Charley Pride will join the likes of Loretta Lynn, Bill Monroe, and Little Jimmy Dickens as he's immortalized with a bronze statue at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium. He will be honored on Wednesday, Mar. 29 as a part of Ryman's Icon Walk. The event is completely open to the public and will take place at 2:30 p.m. at the Ryman Auditorium. (WZTV)
  3. After 22 years of business in Nashville, Ten Thousand Villages shared that they might not last much longer without financial help. The store let community members know they will be accepting financial donations in order to continue their efforts in supporting global artisans and sharing the uplifting stories of artists whose work ends up at Nashville's only fair-trade business.   • The Metro Nashville Historical Commission invited the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department to help with an ongoing preservation project at Sunnyside in Sevier Park. The building dates back to the 1850s, and evidence of gunfire in the building dating back to the Civil War was recently discovered. Members of the Crime Scene Investigation Section were able to help analyze and conduct further research to better understand the damage. (Metropolitan Nashville Police Department)
  • Looking for a new furry friend to welcome into your home? The Nashville Humane Association recently helped their newest puppy find their forever home and friend this past week. There are still plenty of animals available for adoption, so come visit, and you could potentially walk home with a new friend by your side. (Nashville Humane Association)
  • The Metro Nashville Public Schools work-based learning program has a variety of amazing jobs available for rising juniors to keep themselves busy.
