Domestic Violence Division Participated in National DV Warrant Sweep

Agencies across the country attempt to serve outstanding family violence warrants.

The Domestic Violence Division Wednesday participated in the 14th Annual National Domestic Violence Family Apprehension Warrant Sweep.

The sweep is a day-long event in which agencies across the country attempt to serve outstanding family violence warrants.

Metro police precinct personnel participated along with Warrants, Special Response Team officers, Sheriff’s Office personnel, the Tennessee Board of Probation and Parole, and Metro Nashville Emergency Communications.

“October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month”, said Domestic Violence Division Captain Michelle Richter. “It is our hope that we can send a strong message to offenders throughout Davidson County that we will work together to find them and hold them accountable.”

This partnership resulted in officers attempting to serve multiple outstanding warrants with 14 offenders arrested on 16 misdemeanors and eleven felonies, and the service of 27 warrants.
