Ex-Mayor Offers Donors Refunds After Resignation
Former Mayor Megan Barry is emailing campaign donors, offering refunds.

NASHVILLE, TN -- Donors to former Mayor Megan Barry's campaign coffer can get a refund in the wake of her resignation.
Barry emailed those who donated to her campaign between her swearing-in in 2015 and her resignation earlier this month, offering refunds of roughly half the amount they donated, according to The Tennessean.
"Although we have incurred campaign-related expenses over the course of the last 30 months, we are able to provide a refund of approximately one-half of your original contribution," Barry wrote in the email.

In January, Barry reported $338,077 in her campaign account.
Some of that amount will be used to "wrap up campaign expense" or donated to other candidates. Any remaining balance "could" be given to charities, Barry wrote.

Barry resigned March 6 following a guilty plea to theft charges stemming from misappropriation of Metro funds related to her admitted affair with former security chief Rob Forrest.
