Joelton Convenience Store Clerk Shoots At Would-Be Thieves: MNPD
A clerk at a Joelton gas station shot at three people who he said tried to stick him up, badly injuring a teenager.

JOELTON, TN -- Faced with three would-be armed robbers, a Joelton convenience store clerk, fought back, shooting one of the alleged thieves in the stomach, seriously injuring him.
The clerk at the store on Whites Creek Pike told police he'd gone outside just before midnight to smoke a cigarette when he was confronted by three masked men, one with a rifle and another with a handgun, who tried to rob him; the clerk, however, was carrying a handgun of his own and shot twice.

One of his shots hit one of the thieves in the stomach and the other two immediately fled. The clerk, who is a Marine Corps veteran, and two witnesses gave the teenager medical attention, including applying pressure to his wound and CPR until paramedics arrived.
The teenager is in critical but stable condition. The clerk was not injured. The other two suspects have not been located, nor were descriptions immediately available.
