Maid Cleaned Homes, Cleaned Out Owners: Nashville Police

The owner of a Tennessee maid service is charged with theft, accused of cleaning out at least two homes of thousands of dollars of items.

NASHVILLE, TN -- The owner of a Nashville maid service cleaned more than floors and furniture, according to Metro Police.

Cynthia Ward, 36, owns Cynthia'a Housekeeping, based in the Cheatham County community of Chapmansboro.

Investigators say in December 2017 Ward was hired to clean a Gulch apartment and stole cash, gift cards, an iPad, a Louis Vuitton day planner and a high-end camera. She had been hired to clean for two hours, but investigators say keycard records show she came and went from the apartment four times over a six hour period. Security footage reportedly shows Ward carrying "large purse."

On Tuesday, according to an arrest report, a customer's daughter came home and saw Ward loading items from the home into her car. Later, Metro Police spotted Ward in the car at the bottom of a nearby hill. The homeowner said she had $7,600 worth of property missing from her home; investigators said many of those items were in the trunk of Ward's car.

Ward is charged with two counts of felony theft, but Metro Police believe there could be more victims.
