Man Dies At Nashville Jail After Booking

An investigation is underway after an "agitated" man died after being booked into the Davidson County Jail.

NASHVILLE, TN -- A man died shortly after being booked at the Davidson County Jail this week.

Scott Haines, who had numerous drug convictions on his record, was "very agitated" on his arrival at the jail and died after some type of medical distress, according to NewsChannel 5.

The station said there is video of Haines' death and that it will be reviewed as part of the investigation.

In 2008, Haines was charged in connection with a steroid and human growth hormone distribution ring that had ties to members of the Metro Nashville Police Department.
