Middle Tennessee Braces For More Snow, Bitter Cold

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from Monday afternoon into Tuesday night for Middle Tennessee, with up to two inches of snow possible

NASHVILLE, TN -- A plunging Alberta clipper is expected to bring more snow and the coldest temperatures of the winter to Middle Tennessee starting Monday evening.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the counties northwest of Nashville and winter weather advisory for the rest of Middle Tennessee.

Forecasters expect 3 to 6 inches in the northwest with 1 to 3 inches in the rest of the Midstate, with Nashville and its environs in the 2 to 3 inch range.

Dangerously cold temperatures will follow the storm, with lows in the teens Monday night and not much of a warm-up for Tuesday's highs, with lows Tuesday and Wednesday down in the single digits and perhaps below zero depending on the amount of snow cover, forecasters said.
