MNPS Opening 2 Hours Late Friday

NASHVILLE, TN — Metro Nashville Public Schools will open two hours late Friday, Jan. 5, the district announced Thursday afternoon.

Delayed start times and alternate schedules for students who ride MTA buses are available online.

MNPS was delayed Thursday, as well, but that decision was not made until late Wednesday night, with calls going out to parents around 8:30 p.m, prompting criticism from, among others, Metro Councilman Freddie O’Connell who took to Twitter to question the decision - presumably the delays are due to the cold but MNPS hasn’t actually offered a reason for either delay - and for the relatively late announcement Wednesday.
