- Locally-based real estate firm Creative Development Partners recently purchased a motel near the Nashville Airport, Red Lion Inn & Suites, with a plan to turn it into affordable multifamily housing. The firm has already begun renovating rooms, and plans to add an additional six units to the existing 120 once the property is stabilized. (Subscription: The Business Journals)
- For Nashville's upcoming 4th of July bash, public transit company WeGo announced that it will offer special train and bus services. WeGo will offer a train that can take people downtown for the 'Let Freedom Sing!' event and fireworks show and will take people back an hour after the show ends. The train will make stops in Lebanon, Hamilton Springs, Martha, Mt. Juliet, Hermitage and Donelson on the way to Riverfront Station. You can purchase round-trip tickets online for $17 here. (WZTV)
- Horace Palmer Williamson III, the first defendant in the Cobra Bar murders, was found guilty on Tuesday. The jury found Williamson guilty of participating in a robbery of a group of four friends in the bar’s parking lot on Aug. 17, 2018, which ended in the deaths of Jaime Sarrantonio and Bartley Brandon Teal. Once Williamson's trial concludes, the second defendant, Demontrey Logsdon, will be tried. (The Tennessean)
