Temperatures will climb to near 80 Tuesday and then fall back into 50s and 60s by week's end across Middle Tennessee.

NASHVILLE, TN -- April begins with, appropriately enough, showers and a brief warm-up, according to the National Weather Service forecast for Nashville. After the mercury flirts with 80 Tuesday, a sharp cool down comes for the rest of the week.
Monday: Cloudy with a 40 percent chance of showers, high of 63. A 20 percent chance of showers overnight, otherwise cloudy, low of 57.
Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of showers and storms after 1 p.m., high of 78. Winds of 5 to 15 mph gusting to 25 mph. An 80 percent chance of showers overnight with plummeting temperatures, low of 44.

Wednesday: Partly sunny and cooler, high of 53. Clear and cold after sundown, low of 34.
Thursday: Sunny high of 61. Partly cloudy in the evening, low of 44.
