Nashville Area Weather Forecast: Winter Returns
A winter storm blows into the Midstate Friday and cold air follows with another chance of snow Monday.

NASHVILLE, TN β Thursday's springlike weather will give way to a winter storm to start the weekend, according to the National Weather Service forecast for Nashville. After Friday's shot of winter precipitation, things turn colder for the rest of the weekend with another snow chance Monday.
Friday: Rain before 8 a.m., then sleet between 8 and 10 a.m. changing over to all snow by midmorning. Accumulations of one to two inches are expected. Temperatures falling through the day to 28. Winds of 15 mph gusting to 25 mph. Snow continues after dark through midnight before tapering into flurries, low of 23. Winds of 10 to 15 mph gusting to 25 mph.
Saturday: Mostly cloudy, high of 30. Winds of 10 to 15 mph gusting to 20 mph. Partly cloudy in the evening, low of 16.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, high of 30. Winds of 5 to 15 mph could gust to 25 mph. Mostly cloudy after dark, low of 19.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day: A 30 percent chance of rain and snow after noon, otherwise mostly cloudy, high of 39. A 40 percent chance of snow overnight, otherwise mostly cloudy, low of 15.
