- The Metro Nashville Police Department's (MNPD) West Precinct recently dedicated six detectives to stopping retail crime rings at the Mall at Green Hills, Nashville West Shopping Center, and One Bellevue Place. According to police the "organized retail crime specialists" steal expensive luxury goods and then sell them online. The three locations listed above have had up to 134 incidents this year. Metro Police have since arrested 21-year-old Jayona Brown in April and 24-year-old Antonio Crockett last week, both wanted for stealing thousands of dollars worth of goods. (WKRN News 2)
- Metro Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on Friday, Jun. 9, at an apartment complex in the 5300 block of Nolensville Pike in South Nashville. The victim was shot multiple times and was taken to a local hospital with critical injuries. (WKRN News 2)
- On Friday. Jun. 9, the Nashville Fire Department (NFD) extinguished a fire on the second floor of Liberty Collegiate Academy in Nashville. One of the construction workers doing work on the school was critically injured and died from their injuries at the hospital. The students and teachers at the school for summer camp were mostly unharmed. One student and one teacher were transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation, both had non-critical, non-life-threatening injuries. (WZTV)
