Second Round Of Middle Tennessee Snow Likely Monday Night

A clipper system is expected to push through Middle Tennessee Monday night, with forecasters saying up to two inches of snow possible.

NASHVILLE, TN -- Saturday's sun melted some of Friday's snow and relieved some Middle Tennessee roads of their remaining slick spots - though many shady streets are still treacherous. Frigid temperatures will keep the fallen and frozen intact for awhile and refreezing is a possibility for what does melt.

Meanwhile, another system will push into Middle Tennessee Monday night and forecasters say snow is a virtual certainty. The question is how much will fall.

There will be a brief warm-up Monday with highs in the mid-40s but a clipper system will roll in overnight into Tuesday.

The weather service says anything between a dusting and two inches is possible and expect to firm up the forecast as the system approaches.

Even with Monday's meagre warm-up, whatever does fall is likely to cause slick spots on roads because ground temperatures will stay cold.
