MACC's Sue Baker told the station that not only was the incident itself shocking, but so was the girl's fairly casual reaction to being confronted about it.
"I made contact with her at school and she was very forthcoming," Baker told the station. "She told me that this happened, she pulled out her phone and showed me the original video. She indicated she didn't like the bunny – that it scratched her... and she was annoyed and that's why she threw it."

Baker said that the veterinarian who examined the rabbit said there were previous injuries consistent with the type of abuse documented in the video, indicating it may be a pattern of behavior.
The bunny is now in MACC's control.
