Tenn. Farm Famous For Bull With Prosthesis Needs $600K For Move
The Gentle Barn, home of the beloved bull Dudley with the prosthetic hoof, is raising money for a bigger plot.

NASHVILLE, TN -- A Tennessee rehabilitation farm that became famous for fitting a bull with a prosthetic foot is planning a move from Knoxville to Nashville, but needs a heap of help.
In 2015, The Gentle Barn received a call from a friend of a Nashville-area rancher about a bull that had lost its foot. The Gentle Barn spearheaded an effort to get Dudley - as the bull became known - the operations necessary and the prosthesis. Once fitted with his artificial hoof, Dudley "touched many lives" before passing away. He also inspired the creation of The Gentle Barn Tennessee, located on 12 leased acres near Knoxville, as a rehab facility for injured farm animals.

Unfortunately, The Gentle Barn has lost its Knoxville lease; fortunately, it found 40 acres near Nashville, but the group needs $600,000 by June 10.
"The Gentle Barn is ready to purchase a wonderful property outside Nashville. It is just under 40 acres, which will allow us to save more animals, reach a larger community, heal more children and open many more hearts," the group wrote on a GoFundMe page. "Once we’re moved in, we must build some fences and update the barns to get them ready for our animals. When the dust settles, we will plant a tree in Dudley’s memory and finally lay his ashes to rest. Forever more, The Gentle Barn Nashville will be Dudley’s legacy and the miraculous work we will do there will honor his memory."
