A man selling toys outside of a North Nashville gas station died after a shooting Thursday night.

NASHVILLE, TN -- A toy vendor was killed and a security guard injured in a shooting outside of a North Nashville gas station Thursday night.

Metro Nashville Police said 56-year-old Louis Lisi was selling toys from a trailer outside the Z Mart at 26th Avenue North and Clarksville Pike when two men approached him in an apparent robbery bid and began shooting. A security guard on the scene was also hit, but it's not clear why he was there or who he was working for or if he was just a man caught in the middle.

Lisi was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.
