VUMC, Ryman, CVC Launch Public Health Program To Help Businesses

Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Ryman Hospitality and the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp. announced on Thursday a new program providing businesses that reopen safely with extra resources and access to public health officials.

The program, called Good to Go, will be available to businesses that vow to abide by guidance from the Metro Public Health Department and the federal Centers for Disease Control

The goal, according to a joint press release, is “ensure a safer city for residents and visitors as Nashville businesses pledge to implement health standards in a way that is consistent across Music City.”

In exchange for committing to follow the public health guidance, businesses will receive a sign – a green music note – to display. They will also have access to Vanderbilt’s leading infectious disease experts and training modules from Ryman Hospitality, one of the city’s largest employers and owner of music institutions like the Grand Ole Opry and Ryman Auditorium.

The Good to Go program will ensure a safer city for residents and visitors as Nashville businesses pledge to implement health standards in a way that is consistent across Music City.

Butch Spyridon, president and CEO of the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp., said founders of the program believe Good to Go is the first of its kind in the nation.

“We want to show the world through cooperation and collaboration that Nashville is safe and sound,” Spyridon said.

VUMC President and CEO Jeff Balser said Good to Go will ensure that informational tools and best practices are readily available for businesses working to keep their employees and customers safe.
