• Repairs for water outage that closed five Soddy-Daisy schools will take hours (timesfreepress.com) — Five Soddy-Daisy schools closed early Wednesday after a major water main break left nearby neighborhoods facing low or no water pressure for much of the day. Crews are working on repairs at Dayton Pike and McAfee Road, with the North West Utility District estimating six to eight hours to fully restore service for Soddy-Daisy and surrounding communities.

• Fishing for feedback: Anglers' input wanted for Chattanooga-area trout regulation changes (newschannel9.com) — If you fish Big Soddy Creek, state wildlife officials want your input on a proposed change that would push the delayed-harvest trout season start from October 1 to November 1. The same proposal package also tweaks trout rules on the Piney River, Catoosa WMA fishing access, and bass limits at two West Tennessee lakes, with public comments open through January 5, 2026.

What your neighbors are talking about on social media
- Looking for our cat that got out Monday night near the 1300 block of Green Pond Road in Soddy.
Orange and white male and he is chipped. Goes by Giffy or at least that is what we call him. You know how cats are… please be on the lookout for him. (Nextdoor Dallas Hollow Road) - Have some siding on the eave of the house that the wind blew loose that needs to be reattached.
Also have some other siding issues on one of our rental houses in Dayton that need fixed. Small jobs but wanting fixed before they become bigger… (Nextdoor South Shore Acres)
