ANGLETON, TX — Authorities have issued an evacuation advisory for the downtown Angleton area, covering a two-mile radius surrounding the Brazoria County Courthouse. This comes as law enforcement continues to respond to an ongoing bomb threat near the courthouse.

The courthouse has been evacuated as a precautionary measure, and additional road closures have been enacted, with more potentially to follow.

Authorities are urging the public to avoid the area while an investigation continues.

“The safety of our staff and community remains our top priority. At this time, we ask everyone to avoid the area within a two-mile radius of the Brazoria County Courthouse, as BCSO Deputies work to investigate further,” the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
