2 Shot Near Brown Middle School In Forney, TX: Reports

FORNEY, TX — Two people were shot Friday afternoon near Brown Middle School in Forney, prompting a brief security response from local schools, according to authorities.

According to the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office, the shooting occurred in a neighborhood near the school on Windmill Farms Boulevard, FOX 4 reported.

One person was arrested, according to NBC 5.

Forney ISD said multiple nearby schools — including North Forney Middle School, Smith Intermediate, Dewberry Elementary, Blackburn Elementary, and Forney Learning Academy— were placed in "secure" mode as a precaution over the shooting.
