The case centers on protecting his children amid serious ongoing criminal and civil allegations tied to his former Fort Hood medical practice, with local judges and attorneys weighing new safeguards and representation for the minors.
   

3. Taylor, Texas, man charged in injury to a child case in Bell County (kwtx.com) — Bell County authorities in Belton have charged a Taylor man in connection with severe injuries to a 2-year-old, after the child was treated at a local children’s hospital. Investigators say he was not a direct family member, and he’s now jailed in Bell County on two serious felony counts with bonds totaling $500,000.
   

4. No. 10 UW-Whitewater pulls away from UMHB for 66-37 victory (kdhnews.com) — Belton fans just saw UMHB’s women fall 66-37 to No. 10 UW‑Whitewater at a packed Mayborn Campus Center, with more than 1,500 Belton ISD elementary students cheering nonstop. Despite 31 turnovers and offensive struggles, freshman and former Lake Belton standout Allie Uzzell posted a season‑high 13 points and six rebounds as the Lady Crusaders quickly turn around to host Trinity this afternoon.
