• Weekend disturbance and traffic stop yield arrests (kdhnews.com) — Washington County deputies arrested two Brenham residents over the weekend in separate incidents, one following a reported family assault and another during a traffic stop that uncovered active warrants and a drug charge. Both individuals were taken to the Washington County Jail, and no injuries were reported, but the cases highlight ongoing local enforcement of assault, license, insurance, and controlled substance laws. 
• Brenham shooting victim dies (kten.com) — A Brenham woman injured in a family shooting on Old Independence Road has died from her wounds, while her father continues recovering at home. Authorities say her brother, also from Brenham, was arrested at the scene and initially charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault and assault on public servants as Texas Rangers assist the ongoing investigation.
• Maifest regalia to be on display at Bullock Museum in 2026 (brenhambanner.com) — Brenham’s beloved Maifest will be showcased statewide when the Bullock Texas State History Museum in Austin features regalia from the 1977 Senior Maifest king, on loan from the Brenham Heritage Museum. Running April 25–September 27, 2026, the “Texas Festivals” exhibit will highlight how celebrations like Brenham’s reflect Texas history, culture, and community identity.
