• Brenham man reports himself to authorities for shooting father, sister (kltv.com) — Law enforcement says a Brenham man is in custody after calling 911 and reporting he shot his father and sister at a home on Old Independence Road in Washington County. Deputies found both adults wounded and transported them to a Houston hospital, while the suspect was arrested on charges with bail set over $1 million as the investigation continues.
   

• Friendship guild sews 300th veteran quilt (brenhambanner.com) — Brenham’s Friendship Quilt Guild has just presented its 300th quilt to a local veteran, marking a big milestone for the group’s years-long effort to honor service members. The guild is already looking ahead to its next biannual “Stars Over Texas” quilt show, set for Feb. 20–21, 2026, at the Fireman’s Training Center on Highway 290 West in Brenham.
