2. Brownsville schools hatch agricultural education program (valleycentral.com) — Students at Breeden and Gonzalez elementary schools in Brownsville are now raising chickens on campus as part of a hands-on agricultural education program. Partnering with Texas A&M AgriLife and the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show & Rodeo, kids track the full egg-to-chick cycle, integrate math and science lessons, and plan to sell eggs to support and expand the project for their school community.
