Are You Ok? Virtual Gathering Forges Empathy, Connection
The virtual gatherings is a series hosted by Pollen to discuss how we are each dealing with COVID-19 and ways we can strengthen communities.
CEDAR PARK, TX —Amid the growing threat of new coronavirus, it's especially important to stay connected and help one another look to the sunny side of life amid uncertainty. By building a community of care, neighbors can work together to lift one another help while helping to navigate during rough times.
Pollen, a media arts organization fostering empathy and encouraging connections across differences, works to inspire meaningful action by sharing stories of individuals seeking to change the collective narrative for the better. Through such exchanges, Pollen grows through individuals' beliefs in equity, empathy and shared humanity.
As the COVID-19 scourge expands its reach, the importance of stories, art and connection is heightened. To that end, Pollen is scheduled to host virtual gatherings to nurture community and social connection despite physical distancing and isolation during this pandemic.

Are You Ok?: A Series of Virtual Gatherings will be offered every Thursday at 2 p.m. featuring a community member sharing one-on-one conversations centered on personal experience with the COVID-19 crisis. Topics will include assessments about how people are dealing with increased isolation, how they're managing to make ends meet in times of economic uncertainty, and how they're contributing toward building a community of care despite being kept apart by social distancing directed by health officials as a method of inhibiting further spread of illness.
Participants will share insights with one another toward the aim of coming together to explore ways to better process, identify ways to cope and discuss how shared values can serve to build and strengthen a community of care.
