🌱 Cause Of 445-Acre Fire Determined + Tax-Free Weekend

First, today's weather:

Here are the top three stories today in Cedar Park-Leander:

1. The 445-acre vegetation fire in the 2100 block of Tower Road from Jul. 23 to Jul. 27 was determined by Williamson County ESD No. 4 Fire Marshal Michael Dickens to be caused by "unintentional sparking from the use of cutting/grinding tools on metal." Twenty-four area agencies, including the Leander Fire Dept. and Cedar Park Fire Dept., assisted in extinguishing the fire. (KPVI News)
2. Texas' annual August tax-free weekend for back-to-school shopping is Friday, Aug. 5, through Sunday, Aug. 7. School supplies, most clothing, face masks, and diapers will be tax-free.
